Are Siberian Cats Hypoallergenic?
If you're looking for a cat breed that is hypoallergenic, the Siberian cat might be the perfect choice for you. Unlike other cat breeds, the Siberian cat has a much lower level of FEL D1, the main allergen responsible for causing cat allergy response. This allergen is found in the cats saliva. This means that about 85-90% of people are not allergic to the Siberian breed, making it a great option for those with moderate allergies. However, it's important to note that the production of the allergen Fel d1 is under hormonal control and the levels are higher in cats that are not spayed or neutered.
